This is a list of the characters I hate the most in fiction. Fair warning, there's going to be a lot of spoilers and nerd rage. And there's going to be a lot of text.

Oh, and by the way, the creators of these characters, made these characters hateable on pourpose, and for that I applaud them. And now on with the list!

Top 10 Hated characters

10. Gilda – MLP FiM
Gilda is on this list for one reason and one reason only. She is cruel to fluttershy. As I stated on my other list, Fluttershy is a very likeable character, so when Gilda does her kick the puppy moment... yeah. Many bronies want Gilda's head on a pike.

9. Gideon Graves – Scott pilgrim
He is very manipulative of his girlfriends, Freezes six of them in stasis, infects Ramona with the glow, which causes her paranoia and insecurity issues, continues to be dominant over a part of Ramona's mind, steal Scott's sword (the power of love) Loses it and then draws a sword from Envy (his current girlfriend)'s dress that had built into it (further Indicating that he sees Envy as an object or tool) and stabs Ramona. Who is a girl. What a dick.

8. Light Yagami – Death note
Light Yagami. The protagonist of Death Note and oddly, the Villain. Yes, he believes he is killing people for the greater good, the greater good, shut it, but that is quickly diluted by the fact he is doing it because he believes he is holier than thou and sees himself as a god like figure, and therefore kills anyone he deems a sinner. To make things worse, HE KILLS L. WHO IS HIS FRIEND! He's quite high on this list, because he dies at the end of Death Note when Ryuk writes his name in the Death Note. A fitting punishment.

7. Sigismundo – Advance wars: Dark conflict
Evil tyranny has a name and it is Sigismundo (or Greyfield if you're from America.) An evil madman who wants to rule supreme and will kill anyone who gets in his way. He even kills Carter (who is a noble gentleman.) Sigismundo's insanity and delusions of supremacy can be compared to Hitler. Again, he is high on the list because he gets his just desserts. Lin shoots him dead. Go Lin.

6. Ghetsis – Pokémon Black

Ghetsis is the true leader of team plasma which is a PETAesque organisation (but not as stupid.) Their goal is to separate Pokémon from their trainers, in order to protect them from 'abuse.' At least that's what he tells his son, N. All N's life, he has believed in the ideals Ghetsis put forward to him and therefore only spent time around Pokémon as a child. This caused him to grow up as an adult child. As N tries to complete team plasma's plans which he believes are for the greater good, he is beaten by the player character. Ghetsis then proceeds to tell him that he was just a tool all along. Ouch. Furthermore, the ideals he drilled into N's head, aren't even what he believes! The only reason he was trying to separate Pokémon from their trainers, was so that he can be the only person in the world with Pokémon. The douche.

5. Spandam – one piece

How I hate Spandam. Nico robin was being carted away to a hellish prison, by Spandam, and he... enjoyed it. Another reason he is so unlikable is that he is doing this while the straw hat crew are desperately trying to rescue Robin, making it a race against time. He even sets his secret service on the straw hats, making it extremely difficult and life threatening. And why is he doing all this? Because Robin has the information inside her head to activate the most powerful weapon ever and is therefore a threat to the world? No. It's out of sadistic spite. Like Sigismundo and Light however, he gets his comeuppance at the end however, with a deliciously violent scene where Robin uses her devil fruit power to break his spine in two.

4. Lady Medusa – Soul Eater

Lady Medusa is one of the most evil and twisted villains ever. She is on this list for similar reasons to why Ghetsis is on this list. Abusing her son. Crona was used as a tool, just like N, but the difference here was that N never had to murder anyone. When Crona was a small child, Medusa would force him to kill cute little animals, and when he refused, she would lock him in a room by himself. Except he wasn't by himself. A bullying entity (named Ragnorok) that resides in Crona's blood would torment him when this happened. On a side note, Medusa was responsible for Ragnorok being inside Crona's blood.  Eventually, he killed the animals, which drove him to insanity. She then had him killing actual living people. Worst. Parent. Ever.

3. Desmond Tiny – Darren Shan Saga
An evil demonic man who travels across time, meddling with the history of the world, for the worse, and generally causing havoc and destruction. For his enjoyment.  Yep, he derives a sick sadistic pleasure from the suffering of the human race. One of his schemes is to use destiny to force his two sons to become creatures of the night. Darren becomes a vampire (reluctantly) and Steve becomes vampaneze (vampires who have to kill when they feed.) He then causes them to become leaders of their respective sub race and then causes them to have a war with them. Darren kills Steve, his brother, and then in order to avoid his destiny ((which was created by Desmond,) a destiny which would force him to become an evil psychopath who would murder every one) He kills himself in a stream. Then Darren and Steve go to the lake of souls, which is basically the Darren Shan universe's version of hell. Because of the destinies Desmond forced on the boys, it's his fault they went to hell. Darren because of his guilt, and Steve because of his naturally evil nature, which is again, Desmond's fault. Darren is rescued from the lake of souls, but Steven spends eternity there. And what punishment does Desmond Tiny get for his Unspeakable atrocities? His plan was thwarted. That's it. He gets to continue living and causing more turmoil, while Darren and Steve are both dead. Wow.

2. Drake Merwin – Gone series

Drake is a nightmare villain. What I mean by that is he will stop at nothing to hunt down the heroes and brutally torture them, and he just won't die. This nightmarish villain has a whip for an arm and is capable of causing unbelievable amounts of pain on his victims. And then he was killed. The end of Drake, right? Wrong. A girl by the name of Brittney, had the ability of immortality (though she is more undead then eternally alive, since she rots and has no breath or heartbeat) somehow had Drakes mind put into her, so every so often, she shape shifts into him and his mind takes over. To make things worse, she is very religious and believes she has been possessed by a demon. Even worse than that? The only way to stop Drake was for the main hero, to tie Brittney up and leave her imprisoned in a basement.

1. Admiral Akainu – One piece
I hate this character with a passion. Yes, he does believe he is doing the right thing, by killing pirates, but his cruelty completely causes that fact to become exempt. Similar to how Robin was being dragged off to prison and the straw hats had to save her, Luffy's own brother (Ace) was taken to be executed. Luffy, against impossible odds, broke into the most insanely high security hell like prison to rescue his brother, only to find that just before he reached Ace's cell, Ace had been taken to be executed. Then, again against impossible odds, he breaks into the marine's main HQ Island to rescue Ace. Luffy has his own life shortened in order to save Ace. He manages to break Ace out of the chains... and then Akainu murders Ace in cold blood. Around 80 episodes Luffy tried to rescue Ace. And Akainu just goes and kills him. And the worst thing is, Akainu acts as though he is dishing out justice when he does this. And what. What punishment does Akainu get? Well, he gets punched by a man with the power of earthquakes, for one thing. But the problem here is that he is made of lava, so it won't have even hurt him all that much. And to top it all off, he survives and CONTINUES to try to kill Luffy. Luffy escaped, but Akainu's mission was to make sure Ace's execution was not stopped. And he won. I don't know about the manga, but in the anime, it hasn't been shown whether or not Luffy kills Akainu yet. Hopefully he does, and in the most insanely brutal and painful way possible.
